One wonders about this kind of research. Most of the prostate cancer patients I see are elderly when the prevalence of biochemical testosterone deficiency increases with age. This is partly due to decreasing testosterone levels associated with illness or debility but there is also convincing epidemiological data to show that serum free and total testosterone levels also fall with normal aging .However I do see quite a few younger men in late 40s and early 50s who have testosterone levels one would expect at such and age.
What is probably more behind the problem is genetics. Examples of genes where polymorphisms may exist could these be behind the cancers.
